Breck,

It is so hard to believe that it was two years ago today I first laid eyes you, and touched you, my first baby, for the very first time. I'll never forget the way you looked up towards my voice right after you were born. It was magical and the bond was instant. I can't believe I've loved you for two years, taken care of you for two years, and been blessed by you for two years, exactly seven hundred and thirty days we have been blessed by you, our sweet, Breck Reid.

Happy Birthday, my sweet son. I love you with a love that I will never have for anyone else. You were my first baby, my first boy, and you, Breck Reid, made me a Mama. Your Daddy and I have loved every minute of watching you grow, and change, and blossom into the fun, relational, and sweet toddler that you are today. You are so expressive and you enjoy interacting with your "people" (Mama, Dada, Adalae, Mamawo, Papaw, Mimi, Papa, Nana, Uncle Jus, Branon, Linsay, Massson, Hollllly, Anneon, Dylllly, Brobro) I pray that one day you will grow up to know Jesus, to love Him, and serve Him with your life. It is such a joy to see how prayer is already a major part of your life. As soon as we get done reading your favorite book before naptime or bedtime, you immediately fold your hands, close your eyes,  and say "Pray!" Your imagination is so fascinating to watch as you play. You are brilliant... you've been able to count from 1-10 for a few months now, you know all of your colors, and you are talking in two or three word sayings now! Daddy and I have to be careful what we say, and have to use code words, because frankly, you are always listening. Your little ears perk up often before we realize you are listening to our conversation! It always melts my heart when I see the gentle way you interact with Adelaide. A few days ago, I walked in on your hugging her. It was adorable. I pray that you and Adelaide will grow up to be close and to love each other deeply. Your sweet spirit is so darling. Two days shy of turning two, you had just gotten up for the day, it was still dark in the room and I said, I love you, Breck. Quietly, behind your pacifier, you whispered, Love you too, Mama. My heart melted. 

 My chest burns with love for you as I reminisce and look back at these pictures. It can't be so... where has the time gone? Makes me want to soak up every single day to it's maximum enjoyment, because someday you will be a grown adult, and I'll want these every day moments back. 

I love you so much! Happy Birthday Big Boy! We love you!

[ christmas ]

Christmas... a long time coming, this post right here. We had such a great Christmas celebrating Jesus, with the people he's blessed our lives with. Our first Christmas festivities began on Christmas Eve (day) at Uncle Brandon and Aunt Lindsay's home. We were there for the entire day, because when you have three kids under the age of two, you just need the whole day to get every thing done. We had a great time! And note to self for future reference: purple cauliflower just makes a veggie tray.

I was glad to finally complete hats for all of the nephews for Christmas! 

I made Dylan and Brody's hats grey, and Maxon's a rust red. 

What a pretty Mom-in-law I have!

Grammy wrapped Breck's gift with a special touch... "Taas" all around the gift. 

That's Breck's word for the mints at Grammy's house.

We tucked the babies in bed at home on Christmas Eve, and then Brett Ryan and I enjoyed giving our gifts to each other once the house was picked up, still, and  quiet. I love doing it that way, because we can focus on each other on Christmas Eve, and Christmas morning is about doing Christmas with the kids!

Breck got a whole slew of cars for Christmas! We even got him some super tiny cars, and I found him putting the cars in the cars to pretend that they were driving. He has such an imagination!

After we had a relaxing Christmas morning, we began to pack up and head down to Mom and Dad's house! We had such a great time with my family! 

 

Mom tried her hand at Grandma's famous Date Balls and  Divinity! She did a great job too! Mom also  continued her tradition of Peanut Butter Fudge! Mmmm!

Enjoyed a moment of Mom and Dad with all four of their Grandchildren!

These kids are so cute together! Dylan and Breck are such good buddies! 

Laidey finally got to meet Uncle Aaron!

And her first time meeting BrodyBro! Not sure what the Urkel pants are all about here, but hey... it happened. :)

Me and my buddy! It really is unbelievable how fast he is growing up! 

And this one!? Oh man, he stole my heart again! He was SO cuddly with me this trip! I hadn't seen him in six months, but as soon as he saw me, he came right to me, reached up for me to pick him up, and he immediately laid his head on my shoulder to cuddle for a several minutes! He did this the entire time we were there too! It was great! Love that little Brody!

We got to do special things like play with Papaw's Choo-choo train! Breck LOVED it. Crazy that this Lionel was my dad's when he was a boy, and I remember watching it go around our Christmas tree when I was young, and now my babies and nephews are playing with it! 

Brody seriously, always has the coolest shoes. Always. 

Mamaw's shoulder has a special touch...

Dylan and I simultaneously ordered Peppermint Mochas. Good taste, buddy.

To THIS!? Time has flown!

We got to spend time with Great Uncle Greg and Great Aunt Donna!!! We love them SO!

And FINALLY! Aunt Holly got to hold Lou! Holly had the flu bug nearly the entire time we were there. :( But, finally on our last day there, they got to cuddle!

Can't believe Christmas has already come, gone, and we're a month out from Christmas. 

And I can't believe my baby is turning TWO years OLD tomorrow! 

Babies just woke up, after almost TWO hours to myself! Off to nurse, and play, and plan a special boy's birthday!
