[ july-august in photos ]

I'm going to let these photos speak for themselves for the sake of a time-consuming-catch-up post once again. :) Photos from July-August 2012

Love it when I come across sights like this around our home. We have boys and girls here, folks!

Love my little freshly bathed twins!

Our girl is standing and pulling up to things, and walking along things, and standing up with no help in the middle of the room, but she's not quite walking by herself. She has taken one step by herself and then falls. She's soooo close!

My boy's imagination is amazing! Everything from pretending Daddy's belt flung over the ironing board is a rope swing, and inviting me to swing with him, to using the belt as a seatbelt to buckle himself and mommy in to drive to "work." It's so fun to watch him pretend and be creative, and pretend right along with him!

Holly + Aaron + the boys visit...

I spy a Dylan.

Pretty Nana Anna

They boys loved our "ocean!"

WE actually nailed a family photo?! Thanks, Nana, for snapping this one!

Then there was the Owl episodes. We got this owl to hang up in one of our trees to keep the birds from dropping their biz onto our front porch. But the owl made some appearances around the house before he made it up into our tree. Many of the owl spottings weren't captured on camera, but they still gave us a good laugh. Everywhere from umbrella stands, to in the shower with "Frank."
In the pantry - thanks to Holls

Little surprise waiting for Holly in the shower - thanks to me!

Found the owl both in my sheets, and under my bed. - thanks to Holly.

Picnic at Fredick Meijer Gardens

When Sis is in the house, she rocks the hair styling.

Beach day! To sum up the short beach trip in one word, it would be "WINDY!"

Laidey had a little visitor that weekend too... all the way from Cali again! Miss Juliet! :)

Quiet the change from last time! (December 2011)

Grammy + Poppa + Nana's Cottage

One of my favorite things... (besides the fishing!) the skylight over our bed!

Mmm... coffee and fishing with Grammy and Poppa in the early mornings!

(Just to be fair... this was Poppa's fish, not Breck's! :) But Poppa let him borrow it for a photo! :)

Oh! Another high-light of this cottage? It came with a pontoon boat for us to use. Pontoon boat aka - floating playpen! It was so nice to have it for Adelaide to play around on while we were fishing off the dock right next to her. No worries, all the doors were locked on the boat. She wasn't going anywhere!

Our view while we were out fishing on the boat one morning... very early.

Again, courtesy of Breck :)

Breck was helping Poppa pick up branches after a crazy storm ripped through the night before

Double JJ
Daddy's "new" work paid for all of their employee's and their families to be put up into a cabin for the night at a local ranch? resort? thing. It was great, especially the water slides at the end of the stay, which cued the meltdowns, which cued it was time to head home where we could get back into our napping schedules and spaces.

Breck eyeing the water slides upon our arrival at the ranch.

At the rodeo It was so blooming hot all weekend, and it finally started  raining while we were at the rodeo, but we just stayed because it felt so good to be rained on after enduring all of that heat!

Bloom skype session with Kelle Hampton!

So, my favorite author, writer, photographer, blogger, Kelle Hampton, came out with her first book, Bloom in April. She had an incentive where any one or any book club who pre-ordered ten copies of her book would receive a twenty-five minute skype session with her for a question and answer time! I still can't believe this happened! My amazing honey surprised me with TEN COPIES for my 27th birthday! He had several of my friends pitch in and buy a book so that I could "meet" Kelle!!!! When it came time to skype with her, I was literally SO nervous I thought I was going to get sick! But she was so awesome and as soon as she started talking, I realized I wasn't going to pass out! It was SOOO fun to be able to talk to her and ask her questions. I still keep thinking of things I wish I had asked her, even though it's long over. And those twenty-five minutes turned into fourty-five, but still flew by too fast. Here are some photos of my friends and our skype party! Missing several of my friends and family in these photos who also helped make this happen!

Kelle Hampton!!!!!!!!!!!!
