One of the things we love about Christmas is that it seems to call for crafting overload. Craft fairs, crafting gifts, ornaments, new decorations, etc. We enjoyed a little craft fair scavenger hunt this past weekend. My honey knows I love anything crafty... anything. He had a lengthy list of locations printed off with GPS in hand and asked if I'd want to hit up some Christmas craft fairs. It literally made my Christmas season.
Notice Daddy's hat? It matches the one I made for Breck, it's just opposite colors! It turned out pretty good! I meant to get a picture of them together with the hats on. Note to self.
He was a trooper! Snug and a bug in a blankie...
Since Breck's paci clip was MIA, Daddy got super creative and used the pom-pom as a paci keeper. It worked just fine!
We had the best kettle corn we've ever tasted in our life, and sampled some severely strong peppermint marshmallows... which inspired this man to go crazy and craft up his own homemade peppermint mallows! (WHY is it spelled marshmallows? I mean, no one says "mAllows." It should be marshmellows. Even though spell check can't handle it, with it's squiggly red line and all, I'm tempted to add this spelling to the dictionary for good.)
It think it's become a tradition that every Christmas we test out a new peppermint recipe. BrettRyan is in LOVE with anything pepperminty. Hence or new tradition of munching on our homemade white chocolate peppermint popcorn while we decorate the tree.
Last year it was his own concoction of peppermint soda made with his beverage carbonator...

(Excuse the lighting. The unsightly flash on last year's picture pains me... I haven't seen a flash in so long I can hardly stand it, but his handsome face makes up for the poor lighting conditions!)
And this year... it's homemade peppermint marshmellows. :)
They turned out BEAUTIFUL! He did an awesome job. They have just the right amount of peppermint and add just the right flavor of mint to a cup of hot cocoa or coffee. Delish.
And now I'm recovering from inhaling too much cinnamon during my craft with Breck this morning. I think I handled so much cinnamon that it seeped into my pores and I will probably continue to smell it throughout the Christmas season, it was that much cinnamon. We made some homemade ornaments! More pictures of the finished products to come after our surprises are handed out at Christmas! :)
Can't wait to decorate these suckers with glitter and ribbon! And to add to my crafting uphoria... I'm soo looking forward to the Christmas Craft Night I was invited to on Thursday night! Bunch of Mommas getting together at the coziest home ever to craft, chat, snack, and be merry together!
Happy Crafting!!!
