[ walking milestones & 4D blessings ]

Ever since Breck turned a year old he seems to amaze us with something new every day. Lately he puts everything to his ear and jib-jabs like he's taking some important phone call. If he sees a remote, he aims it right at the television and pretends to push all the right buttons (we find this ironic, since we no longer have television, so apparently he learned this from watching us turn on his PraiseBaby DVDs!)  He can play peek-a-boo and say Maa-maa-ma! This morning he said Maa-ma and pointed at my picture! The kid knows what he's talking about. :) And we now have officially have a toddler! He's walking now and he took his first five confident steps on Friday, February 11th. I was still recovering from food poisoning that evening or else I probably would have had it documented that night. He's so proud of himself when he walked and he walks nearly constantly, except when he needs to get somewhere in a hurry... then he reverts back to crawling. Here's a little video of his cute little butt swingin' into action.

Caught in the act of walking...

This is what he does when he hears the words peek-a-boo!

And oh how wonderful it was to hangout with our little baby number two today for about 20 minutes during an ultrasound! I just have to say that sometimes it pays off to play dumb, and ask questions  to the ultrasound technician like "Can you see much detail in a 3D ultrasound when they are this small? Or do they have to bee quite a bit bigger?" - (All the while, I knew full well that all it would take would be a switch of a button probably two millimeters away from her fingers to switch it to a 3D view.) The ultrasound tech's response, "We can do it! You wanna see? I'll do a 4D one." He-ck YES, please! 4D? Even better! She took a bazillion pictures for us in 4D... I'm so glad I played dumb and now have these photos to cherish for ever! So much better than the grainy black and white ones. Once again, it was reassuring of what a little miracle is growing inside of me! The baby is 11 weeks and 5 days, and measured 4 cm. The baby was pretty still until the very end and the tech said, "Wow! Looks like we have a cheerleader on our hands!" Literally we saw the baby put it's arms strait up in the air and then back down to his face, up in the air, down to it's face, and up in the air again, several times over. It was precious! Seeing this ultrasound was just what I needed to bring that little glow of emotion that comes carrying a life inside of you, that you will one day birth, and love, and parent.  The kind of excitement that makes me want to make an announcement over a loud speaker in public or have an arrow dangling from the sky right above my head that points to me and says "Hey! Stranger, I have a BABY, a human being growing inside of me! How bout that!?"

See the cheerleader stance? Hey, boys can be cheerleaders too. ;)

Hands and arms more drawn in toward the face...

More of a front facing view with hands up to face...

What. a. miracle. How could anyone deny there is a creator? These things don't just happen
In love with this pre-sping/post-winter sunshine, my family, and the little baby boy or girl growing inside of me!
