[ trick.or.treat 2011 ]

Trick-or-Treat.

We had a mermaid and a super hero, specifically: "Daddy's sidekick!"

We had fun dressing up twice...
First, we went to Daddy's work Halloween party at Uncle Dave and Aunt Krystal's house!
Mommy was a witch, Daddy a wizard, Breck the superhero and Laidey a mermaid!

I puff-paint traced shell clip-art onto a pink onesie, and free-handed and sewed a mermaid fin?/tail? for her legs to go into out of some fabric I've had in my fabric stash!

I think Daddy looked more like Gaston, than a wizard. I love my handsome Gaston! :)

See the resemblance?!

Breck's outfit was really a pair of pajamas! I made him a mask out of yellow felt, and red lightening bolts, and a big scrap of fabric tied around his neck for a cape!

Mini-me!

Then there was Halloween night. Daddy was a clown with a super cool mohawk. And Mommy was... I'm not sure. I've always wanted an excuse to wear this masquarade mask, so I took advantage of the opportunity. At one point while we were trick-or-treating... a little girl asked me what I was, and I said, "You know, I'm not sure! What do you think I am!?!" HA!

This was the 2nd house! He caught on the idea quick and LOVED IT!

I can't believe I have a kid old enough to GO trick-or-treating! Here's a picture of little Lou-lou to prove she went out too! (Laidey Lou-lou is the nickname that rolls off my tongue for her lately!)

Grammy and Uncle Jus went out with us too, and Papa met up with us too!
Grammy made some yummy chili and hot dogs to warm us up, once we got back!

LOOK at the cool costume Uncle Jus made!!!! He's so talented!

And two special little people got some trick-or-treats in the MAIL! :)

Little thank you phone call to thank Mamaw and Papaw for the treats!

Ps. This little angel baby started nursing for about ten seconds this morning, pulled off, looked up at me, and SMILED and cooed for a few minutes before she started eating again! The look she gave me was, "Oooh Mommy, I just want to look, and smile, and "talk" to you instead of eating! GAWSH I love these two!

[ trick.or.treat ]

Somebody found Gramma's estate-sale-stamp-stash! He could sit there for hours just going through all the stamps... it was precious. He was wide-eyed the whole time!

We had a great time at Mom and Dad Buckingham's on Halloween! There was lots of warm chili, pumpkin carvings, pumpkin guts, laughs, babies, Honeycrisp apples, and carmel dip. Yum.

Caught him in mid-wink.

Mr. Creative brainstorming...

We had lots of fun carving pumpkins! Most of us kids (aka parents now) were able to find time in the midst of sleeping, napping, fussy, and happy babies to get a little pumpkin carving on.

And boy, did we deliver.

Buddies!

And now, for the Breck's first Halloween costume!
Drum roll, please........................................

We have a..... LION! Roaaaaaarrr!

Gramma, Poppa, and Breck Reid!
(Mama did pack socks for Breck, but they somehow got missed when putting on the costume. Lion tails and drawn-on-lion-whiskers are much more important!)

She's not proud or anything... :)

Breck (9 months) and Maxon (8 months)

Great Grams and Gramps with the boys. The boys were pretty much done by this point.

BrettRyan's (Left) & Amber's (Right)
(Look how creative my man is! His pumpkin is awesome! And then there's my poor attention-deficit-disorder-pumpkin-carving-attempt. I got a little out of control with the lemon zester on my pumpkin's face and it looks like it skid it's face on the pavement!)

Ps. I saved the pictures from Breck's trick.or.treat to Mamaw and Papaw's house and was going to include them on this post when we "revealed" his costume, but wouldn't you know, they are on my hard drive with the rest of the ten thousand pictures that are being compromised right now.
As soon as I get them back, I'll post!

[ field trips, new milestones, and road trips ]

Yesterday we got to see Poppa's office! Mommy and Poppa had a mini photoshoot for work, so Gramma and Breck came along.

I got to sit on Poppa's desk, see his big computer, meet his boss, and play in the leaves outside! It was so much fun!

THIS. Is how I was greeted this morning when I went to get Breck up for the day! Wowzzzers. It's incredible how they can literally change and develop overnight. He amazes us, daily!

(Look familiar Mom and Dad!?!)

This would explain why I've found a few of his mobile ornaments in his crib, instead of dangling from the mobile!

LOVE that morning face.
Mommy had two little packing helpers today!

We have a fun weekend ahead of us... family reunion, family pictures, trick-or-treating to Mamaw and Papaws! Oh the perks of having out of town family... getting to spread out the holidays, celebrate them more than once, and sometimes celebrate them before they're even here! (That's about the only perk I could come up with, but hey, it's positive. So we'll take it!) Can't wait to enjoy some Mamaw, Papaw, Aunt Holly, Uncle Aaron, Brody, and Dylan time!

Little costume hint: Happy 1st Pre-Trick-or-Treating!!!
